5 Asian Movies To Watch Over The Christmas Holidays

If you’re family is like mine then you definitely will be finding that throughout the upcoming 3 days of Christmas period you find yourself mostly stuck before TV, watching movies together. Now apart from tolerating all of your family members, it is also hard to come up with ideas what to watch. So here is some suggestions that are great to watch with family together!

1. Scandal Makers

This one is a classic which will always be on my list to watch during festive times. It follows the story of mid 30’s radio DJ, Nam Hyeon Su (played by Cha Tae Hyun) who one day finds out he is not only a father but also a grandfather. The comedic movie follows how they come in terms of being a family. Great interaction between the main casts including Cha Tae Hyun, Park Bo Yeong, and more!

2. Herb

Sweet, youthful romance is what Herb is. I can’t say how much I enjoy this movie. Slow at first, but it is a story to watch out for. It really is a movie for the holidays at it has romance, friendship, family and acceptance themes, and it is one that the whole family can watch together.

3. Going by the Book

You always need some comedy to watch, and Going by the Book is a hidden gem in this category. The movie follows naive traffic cop who is tasked to infiltrate the word of robbers in order to reduce public panic about recent robberies in the small town. Seems odd but it ensues a hilarious comedy! The first minutes of the movie might seem uninteresting, however, there is a great turn of events as the plot starts to develop. It is a must watch, especially if you love suspense and comedy movies.

4. Hear Me

The only taiwanese movie on the list, Hear Me is one of my ultimate favourite asian movies of all time! It’s one that surprised me the most plot wise. It is a cute romantic movie that will create an immense envy if you’re single.

5. BABO: Miracle of a Giving Fool

This is a must for the holidays… even the title just says it so! It’s all about ‘giving’ and LOVE! It’s really a family movie but warning you do need some tissues!
