[Review] When a snail falls in love

So I really had high hopes from this drama, particularly romance wise... even though I didn't get that romance, I did get an exciting drama filled with suspense and action.

If you are familiar with Chinese dramas, especially short ones that only have less than 25 episodes, then you can expect that it might not end with a conclusive ending. And this happened with this drama... I am really hoping for a second season! Yes, a second season would fulfil that romance which was needed from this drama. Additionally, the synopsis does uncover a continuum for the drama and could potentially continue (not going to go to in depth into this as it might soil a lot). The ending felt rushed, but really hoping that they will announce a second season and this drama might jump up on my rating.

What I really enjoyed is that the drama is not only set in China but as well in Myanmar, Burma. The plot crosses between this countries. However, at times I did feel at loss because the crime and the events were not explained. The sets are great, and you can really immerse yourself in the story.

Moreover, the characters and the actors who play them are great! I never had the chance to watch a drama with Wang Kai and Wang Olivia, but I really liked their interactions. We cannot also forget some of the additional characters that created a really great team on the police force.

You might not know, but this drama is actually based on a novel 'Ru Guo Wo Niu You Ai Qing' by Ding Mo. After watching this, I may take a look at the novel. Hopefully that could fulfil the romance I missed in the drama!
