However, I do feel that without the first season, you wouldn't have enjoyed the second one. They are greatly interlinked as the storyline continues events from the first season.
The story follows Fang Mu and Tai Wei who are trying to track down the kidnapper of the Captain's daughter. We are introduced to new characters who become integral part of the investigation team but as well part of the crime mystery. I really enjoyed the addition of the new members but also liked that the supporting characters had more parts in this season than in the last one.
You also cannot forget that the two main character has a much stronger bond in this season, especially when they use nicknames like 'Mu mu'. At the end of each episode, there is also small snippets of the bromance between the two character which explain part of the storyline in a comic way but also focuses on the bond between the two main leads.
What really made this season though was the fact that the storyline was really well developed. There were twists and turns that I didn't expect, and everything linked well together.
Interestingly, the very last episode has two endings suggesting that this might not be the end of Evil Mind series... I totally would love another season for sure!!
